Banned Commercials
published on Jan 11th, 2007 // 5 Comments
Short collection of banned, controversial and mostly downright funny tv commercials to bring some mirth and enjoyment to your sensitive little souls. Enjoy!
Since the subject of this article has ‘banned’ in the title it’s only fair to asume that there might be content here that may offend or not be suitable for minors. So use your common sense.
Marmite – ‘The Blob’
This ad was banned from children’s television by the Advertising Standards Authority (UK). The ad apparently caused some over sensitive kids to have nightmares.
Wrigley X-cite – ‘Avoid Dog Breath’
This ad couldn’t be shown before the watershed so Wrigley’s have decided to withdraw the advert.
Chevrolet – ‘Dream Car’
Chevrolet themselves decided against airing this ad after it was shot because they thought the public wouldn’t realise it was just a dream. The words “This is a dream. Do not drive without a license” appear in the first few seconds of the commercial but they still decided against airing it.
Carling – ‘Frustrating’
Not much to say about this one. Could have been banned for many reasons
Language School- ‘Need to learn English’
This is a commercial for a language learning institute in the Netherland
Manix Condoms ‘More Choice More Pleasure’
Lots of naked people
Nike
Great ad but you can see how it might be slightly terrifying for children
Xbox – ‘Life is Short’
Very clever ad but it was judged to have caused “considerable distress” to many viewers.

Why do they always delete the videos with some naked people? Stupid american attitude. Ultra violence but never ever a naked person…

I loved the Blob in the first one. Make it into a feature and it might become a cult movie.
