I purchased Alien Bees Package from the States last week. Boy am I impressed. This was my step up into flash photography.
This is a list of the kit I bought.
- 1 AlienBees B400 Flash Units
- 1 AlienBees B800 Flash Units
- 2 CB1 Single Light Carrying Bags
- 2 LS3050 10-foot General Purpose Light Stands
- 1 U48TWB 48-inch Translucent White “Shoot-Thru” Umbrella
- 1 U48SW 48-inch Silver/White Reversible Bounce Umbrella
- 1 OB35 35-inch Medium Octabox (with Rotating Speedring)
This was to complete my mini studio. Other purchases were arriving daily to my door from ebay.
- 13ft x 5ft Pro Backdrop (4m x 1.5m), Black
- 13ft x 5ft Pro Backdrop (4m x 1.5m), White
- 13ft x 5ft Pro Backdrop (4m x 1.5m), Chromakey
- 30” (75cm) Light Tent / Photo Cube / Softbox
- Pro Background Holding System – 4 m wide
Local purchases included two plug adapters, a hotshoe adaptor and a Polaris 2 Flash Meter, the latter being a great addition to my work.
Purchasing the AlienBees was a treat from their tasty website to their politeness and patience on the phone. The only real heart stopper I had was the courier plane breaking down in Germany and having to wait an extra 3 days for the kit.
